Road.

North Cottage lies just off the A1, 30 miles (48km) north of Newcastle, 90 miles (144km) south of Edinburgh.

 From either direction leave the A1 at the Denwick exit, signposted Alnwick B1340. From this exit follow the signs for Longhoughton and RAF Boulmer. Once you have reached Longhoughton take the second right, following signs for Boulmer and RAF Boulmer.

Drive past RAF Boulmer and you will arrive in Boulmer. Turn left at the T-junction and North Cottage is the last cottage on the right.

Rail.

North Cottage is 3 miles from the station at Alnmouth which is served by mainline service trains to Newcastle, London and Edinburgh. For further information on rail services please consult National Rail Enquiries.

We recommend taking a taxi from the station to North Cottage.

Sea.

International car and passenger links are provided by the Port of Tyne, East Newcastle. From the ferry please take the Tyne and Wear Metro system to Central Station for train services to Alnmouth, or to the Haymarket for bus services to Alnwick.

DFDS service runs a route from Amsterdam to Newcastle.

Air.

Newcastle International Airport, is 39 miles (62km) from North Cottage. There are multiple daily flights to UK, European, Middle East and North American destinations each day. If you are hiring your own car, there are numerous car hire providers at the airport. Or, the airport is served by the Tyne & Wear Metro system that will take you to Newcastle Central Station where you can catch the train to Alnmouth.
